WORCESTER-Erik J. Raptis, 49, of Worcester passed away Wednesday, May 11 at the Rose Monahan Hospice House.

He leaves his brother, Philip G. Raptis of Worcester; his sister, Nicole D. Jean-Francois and her husband, Fritz of Frisco, TX; his sister-in-love, Kerri Ann Kudla; his former spouse and stepson, Rosebell and Ian Kinyanjui; his goddaughter and niece, Penelope Raptis; a niece and nephew, Simone and Emmanuel Jean-Francois. A stepson, Erick Kang'ethe predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Theophilos and Nancy Ellen (Witko) Raptis. He graduated from St. John's High and the University of Miami and received his master's degree in Health Administration from Anna Maria College.

Erik was a gentle and kind spirit who lived humbly with a big heart and was always eager to help and care for others. These virtues led him to assist many individuals and families as a social worker at Advocates and LUK Inc and later as a drug rehabilitation counselor at Jeremiah's Inn. He was a gifted artist and excelled at playing percussion instruments. Erik also loved spending time at the beach, swimming in the ocean, and following the New England sports teams and his favorite Pittsburgh Steelers.

A Visiting Hour will be held Monday, May 16 from 10 to 11am in Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell St. Followed by a Funeral Service in the Cathedral at 11am. Burial will be private in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Saint Jude Children's Research Hospital at
