WORCESTER-Francis Najarian, age 80, passed away in Worcester, MA on May 10, 2021. Francis, also known by family and friends as Frank or Fran was born in Worcester Massachusetts on July 20, 1940 to Phyllis and Aaron. He attended North High School in Worcester MA. He was the first of 5 family members, over 3 generations, to graduate from The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Francis is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann (Alexandrian), and their children Scott Najarian of Worcester, Keith Najarian of East Brookfield, and Lisa Sarkisian, and her husband Stephen of Westford, MA. Francis leaves his two grandchildren, whom he adored, Dr. Samantha Sarkisian and Richard Jack Sarkisian. He leaves his brother Dr. Robert Najarian of Halifax, MA and sister Rose Hale of Spencer, MA. He also leaves his sister in law Flora Kasparian of Worcester, and family member Sandra Najarian, also of Worcester, and two nieces and many cousins.

Francis was the long time owner of Park Avenue Pharmacy, and Professional Pharmacy, both in Worcester, and Pinehurst Pharmacy in Auburn. After his retirement from pharmacy, he managed a family business, along with his wife and son, Samantha's Cards & Gifts of Worcester.
He enjoyed playing golf, and was especially proud of having scored a hole in one, at Wachusett Country Club. He was an active member of the Worcester Hye Hackers golfers. He was an accomplished backgammon player, and the winner of many tournaments. He especially enjoyed travel, and visited 40 US States and more than 30 countries.

A dedicated member of the Armenian Church, Francis held many leadership positions, both locally and nationally. At the Armenian Church of Our Savior in Worcester, he served as Chairman of its Men's Club, the Church Treasurer, Parish Council member, building committee member, and Diocesan delegate. Several years ago, he was honored as Parishioner of the Year.
Locally, Francis served as Commander of Arshavir Lodge of the Knights of Vartan, and later as Grand District Representative of the New England Lodges. He was a member of the Montacute Lodge AF and AM. He was awarded Outstanding Young Leader by the Worcester Jaycees. He was presented a Key to the City of Worcester by its Mayor.

Professionally, Francis held many leadership positions in the field of Pharmacy. These include, President of the Worcester County Pharmaceutical Association, member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts State Pharmaceutical Association, organizing member of the drug abuse task force, and member of the Pharmacy Peer Review Committee for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

A private family service was held on May 13, at the Armenian Church of Our Savior and Hope Cemetery in Worcester.
