Obituary

Harry Sahagian, 85, passed away Saturday, January 9 from complication with Covid-19.
Harry was a life-long member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour where he served on the parish council. He enjoyed socializing and working bingo, helping at church picnics and festivals. He also loved Armenian music and dancing. His greatest happiness was being with his family and always being there for them. They were grateful to have his support and enjoyed his humor. Harry loved going to the ocean. He spent summers in Seabrook enjoying their trailer and many trips in colder months to the Caribbean. Another favorite pastime was going to the casinos, no matter if that was in Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Aruba, St. Marten or staying local.
Harry graduated from Commerce High School and Worcester Junior College. He served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard for six years. He then went on to work for the Telegram and Gazette in the composing room for over 40 years. He built many beautiful friendships at work and at his church. He carried those friendships through the years by visiting at the Tatnuck square McDonald's and Cambridge Street Culpeppers. You always knew what day it was when you knew where Harry was having coffee.
He leave his wife of 62 years, Alice (Karamanian) Sahagian; a daughter, Janet Willey and her husband, Mark; a grandson, Christopher Willey; a great grandson, CJ Willey; a nephew Jeffery Hovhanesian and a niece Nancy Hovhanesian. His son Gregory Sahagian, predeceased him in 1991.
Due to current Covid restrictions the Church service will be private. Family and Friends are asked to gather at Noon on Wednesday, January 13 at the entrance of Hope Cemetery to join the funeral procession for a Public Graveside Service at 12:15pm. A Celebration of Harry's Life will be held when it is deemed safe for family and friends in the future. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour 87 Salisbury St., Worcester, 01609.
