Obituary

WORCESTER – Kevin J. Daley, 82, a lifelong Worcester resident died peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018. He was born in Worcester, a son of the late Thomas and Ellen (Buckley) Daley.

Kevin graduated from Saint Peter High School. During his adult working years, Kevin only held two jobs. He worked as a forklift operator in the distribution center for the former Thom McAn Shoe in Worcester for 27 years. Following their closing, Kevin began a career as a building custodial and maintenance worker at Wachusett Regional High School, where he worked for the next 17 years, retiring in 1998.

He enjoyed spending time with his wife travelling, visiting Cape Cod and together, they walked many miles around the city of Worcester. When not accompanied by his wife, Kevin could often be seen walking with his favorite four-legged friend, Blue. He enjoyed, spending time fishing, watching Red Sox and Patriot games, and was a supporter of Holy Cross sports teams. He loved listening to several of the older country music artists as well as his favorite group from Ireland, The Clancy Brothers.

He will be missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 50 years, Mary T. (Foley) Daley; his children, John Daley and his wife Rachelle of Worcester, Joseph Daley and his wife, Diana of Poway, CA, Lisa Casupang of Las Vegas, NV, and Matthew Hayes of Lunenburg; his sisters, Ellen Marie Prokop of Shallotte, NC; ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Thomas Daley.

Family and friends are invited to attend Kevin's Life Celebration visiting hours on Thursday, August 23rd from 5-7 p.m. at the Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester. His funeral will be held on Friday, August 24th from the funeral home before leaving in procession for the celebration of a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Paul, 15 Chatham Street in Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester.
