WORCESTER - M. Gwyneth Bombard, 93, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2021, at The Hermitage Healthcare.

She was the wife of the late Robert E. Bombard, Jr., who passed away in 2008. She leaves behind her children James F. Bombard and his wife, Karyl of Spencer, MA, Mark B. Bombard and his wife, Diana of Hardwick, MA, Robert E. Bombard, III, of New Bedford, MA, Matthew C. Bombard and his wife, Marikay of Commerce Township, MI, and Andrew J. Bombard of North Hampton, MA; seven grandchildren, Ross Bombard of Portland OR, Kurt Bombard of Spencer, MA, Whitney Mohler and her husband Andrew of Newburyport, MA, Alex Bombard and his fiancé Bonnie Thompson of Worcester, MA, Max Bombard of Worcester, MA, Dr. Matt Bombard and his wife Sarah of Gobles, MI and Madeline Bombard of Haslett, MI, five great grandchildren, Selma Bombard, Henry and Charlotte Mohler, Kyler and Sonny Bombard, and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.

Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Bombard was predeceased by her sons, Joseph S. Bombard and Philip Q. Bombard, and five siblings, Edwin J. Caffrey, Thelma Germain, Colwyn D. Caffrey, Norman Caffrey, and James G. Caffrey.

She was born in Worcester on July 8, 1928, a daughter of the late James and Ida (Sheehan) Caffrey. She attended local schools and graduated from St. Peter's High School and later from Worcester City Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Bombard was employed as a registered nurse at the former Worcester City Hospital and later served as a private duty nurse until her retirement. She was a devout Catholic and was a pro-life advocate. She was a supporter of Preservation Worcester, particularly the saving of Mechanics Hall. In addition to her greatest role as a mother, she loved her antiques and collectibles, particularly Beatrix Potter.

All are invited to gather at St. Peter's Church, 929 Main Street, Worcester to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 5th. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery.
