WORCESTER-Peter Wayne Nalbandian, 72, of Worcester passed away Friday, May 13 at his home.
He leaves his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann (Farquhar) Nalbandian; three children, James Nalbandian of Fort Collins, CO, Carolyn Nalbandian and her husband, Justin McGuire of Natick, and Jessica Nalbandian of Worcester, a grandson, Locke, a cute grand-daughter-on-the-way and cousins Harvey Yazijian and Charles Yazijian. His sister, Carolyn Dismoor predeceased him. He was born in Worcester, son of Peter and Marion (Yazijian) Nalbandian. He graduated from Doherty Memorial High School, UMASS Amherst and earned an MBA from Clark University.
Peter or Wayne depending on how you knew him, was a computer programmer. His last position before retiring was with Park Place Technology, prior to that he worked for NEC and GEAC.
Peter had a passion for writing, photography, and baseball. He was active with the Worcester Writers Group, Poetry Oasis and has written three, unpublished novels. Peter also received a key to the City of Worcester for his history project on the legal status of the Armenian people in the United States at the turn of the 19th century. He was a Red Sox fan who also enjoyed a good game of softball and managing Team Edge, a company softball team.

Peter was also an active officer with the Boylston Lodge of Masons, a 32nd degree Mason of the Scottish rite, a member of the
Knights of Vartan, where he served twice as commander, and a facilitator of the Acton Networkers Group. He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour and First Unitarian Church where he was known for writing an original piece of poetry for each Easter Sunrise service.

Visiting Hours are Tuesday, May 17 from 4 to 7pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 18 at 11am in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Armenian Church of our Saviour or the Jimmy Fund.
