Obituary for Richard McBride

August 7, 2018
Hardwick, Massachusetts

Hardwick – "Music is a language that doesn't speak in particular words. It speaks in emotions, and if it's in the bones, it's in the bones." ― Keith Richards.

For Richard Anthony McBride, 32, a local talented musician it was truly his first language. Richie, or "Emph" as he was known in the music world around Worcester, died peacefully on August 7, 2018.

Emph was a talented musician, songwriter, lyricist and performer who has played countless gigs throughout the Worcester area. He was born in Worcester, a son of the late Osvaldo Acevedo and Michelle A. McBride of Hardwick. He was raised in Worcester and attended local schools.

To say that Richie enjoyed life to the fullest is probably a huge under statement. But through it all, Richie had a caring soul and a humble and free spirit that was reflected in all of his daily interactions with people. It was often said that he would "fly by the seat of his pants", but his moral compass and sense of accountability was what guided Richie throughout his life. In all definitions, Richie was truly "in tune" with himself.

He will be forever missed and loved by his mother, Michelle, with whom he lived; his four brothers, AJ, Adam, Brandon and Nicholas and his five sisters, Lorrina, Mellaine, Adrienne, Emily and Nicole; his aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and his close friends, including Jahleh, who was a lifelong influence on Richie.
Funeral services will be held privately and are under the care of Callahan, Fay & Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St., Worcester.
