Obituary

BOYLSTON- Roy William Cathline, 79, passed away suddenly on March 26, 2022 after being stricken ill.

He was born in Worcester on July 5, 1942, son of the late Wilfred and Ethel (Howe) Cathline. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School with the Class of 1960. Following high school, Roy was drafted in the United States Army to serve his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the 25th Infantry Division "Tropic Lightning" in Hawaii. Roy was employed up until the time of his passing at St. Gobain Company where he worked as a machinist and tool maker. He was also an EMT/ Firefighter for the Town of Boylston from 1986 until 2007.

An avid hunter and outdoorsman, Roy made many memories with his sons, family and friends hunting for deer and turkey, having a shot of Yukon Jack Sunday nights before opening day. He could often be found outside working in the yard, playing with his grandchildren and riding his four-wheeler "Old Blue". Roy and his wife went out to eat every Friday night, although he preferred her cooking which he lovingly called "Fay's kitchen". His daughter and he shared the same racy sense of humor. An avid NASCAR fan Roy cherished watching the races and in earlier years he worked with his brother who owned car, #5, which they raced at Westboro Speedway.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 57 years, Faith G. (Nichols) Cathline; his children, Brett William Cathline of New Marlboro, Jeff Edward Cathline of Boylston and Wendy Joy Tetreault of Boylston; his "other son" Barry Pulster of Ellington, CT; his grandchildren, William A. Tetreault and Brynn G. Tetreault, both of Boylston; his sister-in-law, Lillian Cathline; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Besides his parents, Roy was predeceased by three siblings, Helen Forrister, Ruth Ziegler and Edward "Buster" Cathline.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Roy's life with visiting hours on Wednesday, March 30th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm at Fay Brothers Life Celebration Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston.
